How far do you travel for weddings?
I try keep most of my weddings closer to home (within Northern Ireland, but to keep things interesting I’ll always take on few further afield each year. For weddings outside Northern Ireland there’s a small travel fee. Get in touch for a quote if you’re keen!
How many images do we receive in the end product?
You’ll receive approx 500+ images in a lovely online gallery for you to download from. Anymore and you might explode. (If you book me to stay for your evening antics then you'll get more!). All images are high-res and print ready, no big ugly watermarks. I also send you your favourite image as a mounted fine art print.
Can you give me a quote? I’d love it if you could email me if you’d like me to send you a brochure. You might notice my pricing point is slightly higher than some other photographers out there. But it’s important for you to realise that with photography it really is a case of ‘you get what you pay for’. I bring over 12 years of experience to your day and I’ll make the photography element of your wedding feel effortless. I’m often told by couples that it was just like hanging out with a good mate on the day. Sounds like a win win situation to me! It’s easy to be tempted by lower prices, but this often means much less experience. I’ll say no more…
Can we meet you before our wedding?
Absolutely! I’d love to meet for a coffee and some chat! But I keep these meetings to mid-week mornings so need a little bit of notice. If that doesn’t work out time wise or if you live further afield we can chat on the phone or via email.
Why the change from Gather & Tides? With Tim having more work commitments, it wasn’t always easy for him to be at particular wedding dates, so we couldn’t always guarantee that he’d be shooting with Gillian. He’s at 80% of the weddings I shoot, the other times I choose very carefully who I bring with me to second shoot (if you book a second shooter) and can guarantee the same high standard of photography. I also photograph most of the family & lifestyle shoots alone so I feel like Gillian Higgins Photography is a more accurate representation of my business now.
Do you blog all your weddings?
I would love to have the time to blog everything and everyone we photograph, but due to the time it takes to actually put a blog together, this just isn’t possible. You do however get all your images on an online gallery (password protected), that you can share with your friends and family.
How long should we expect to wait to receive our finished photographs?
I’m pretty quick!!! With family life being a priority, I’m careful not to take on too many weddings and I like to spread them out evenly. So I’d rarely do more than 1 wedding a week, and I’m careful to only taking on an exclusive number of weddings per year. This means my turn around time can be nice and fast, with most couples receiving their photos within 2-3 weeks of their wedding! It also means I turn up to your wedding fresh faced and ready to go.
